The 34-year-old film producer, who has lodged complaint of physical assault and outraging her modesty against Amit Mishra, wants to confront the cricketer when he appears before the Ashok Nagar police in Bengaluru.

The Bengaluru-based woman quashed rumours about withdrawing the complaint. “I won’t withdraw the complaint against Amit (Mishra). I am hurt physically, mentally and emotionally by the cricketer,” she told The Hindu . She stated that Mishra was in touch with her till Wednesday and now remains unavailable. “He knew I was going to the police and kept saying he will come to Bengaluru and sort out the matter,” she said, clarifying that her aim is not to ruin his career or seek fame.

“I want Amit to come in front of the police and talk to me,” she added, sounding shaken and upset. She claimed that the two were friends for nearly four years.

Narrating the events of September 25 at the hotel room on Residency Road, the complainant alleged that the cricketer twisted her right arm resulting in a fractured finger and flung a kettle at her, which missed her. “My hand was in a cast, which I removed recently. I was forced to go to the police following the abuse and insult Amit subjected me to," she said. The complainant said she will reveal what exactly provoked the attack if and when necessary.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Sandeep Patil said, “An investigation is under way and Mishra has responded to the notice issued by the police.”

Mishra is likely to appear before the police next week after completion of the one-day series between India and South Africa, sources added.
