While industries have no choice but to grudgingly accept the new schedule, Bescom estimates that staggered holidays will help flatten the load considerably.
A senior official said that the amount of power saved will range from 100 to 150 MW per day depending on the area and sanctioned load. This will be distributed to non-industrial consumers on a day-to-day basis.
Officials also said the determination of area-wise schedule was done according to the average load and all areas had been given equal preference.
