Golf Club to make way for Legislators’ Club?

Is the State government planning to set up the much-talked-about legislators’ club on the premises of the Golf Club?

Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, PWD Minister H.D. Revanna said the government is on the lookout for appropriate land to set up an exclusive recreational club for legislators in the heart of Bengaluru. “We are thinking of setting up the Legislators’ Club on the Golf Club premises. If need be, we will take over the existing club or have it vacated,” he said.

“I am serious about this. The lease of Golf Club will end in 2021. There are several violations by the Golf Club. We had issued a notice to the club in October. They have no permission to run a hotel and bar, or construct a hotel on the premises. They have not replied to the notice. I have asked the PWD Secretary to initiate action against the club, or I will have to take action against him (secretary),” he said.

“Irrespective of how influential members of the club are, we will initiate action for violations. If it comes to that, we will take over the club,” he said.
