Clearance of garbage in the western and eastern parts of Bengaluru, where waste has been piling up over the past four days, will take another couple of days.
Work in these areas was affected after residents of Chikkamankalala near Dobspet prevented garbage-laden trucks from reaching the two processing units there alleging that more than the agreed quantum of garbage was being brought. They finally relented on Wednesday night after hard negotiations with government functionaries.
Kumar G Naik, Commissioner, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike told The Hindu that 185 garbage-laden trucks had been stopped by residents since Tuesday night.
