Gang of five muggers nabbed by police

The West Division police have arrested a gang of five muggers who have been involved in eight robbery cases.

The accused Ramu (20), Puneetha (19), Nitya (19) and Kiran (19) were nabbed by police on suspision in Vijayanagar area.

After detailed questioning, they not only confessed to the eight robberies committed in Basaveshwara Nagar, Vijayanagar, Subramanyapura and Mahalakshmi Layout, but also led the police to confiscate a gold ring, five mobile phones and a wallet containing some cash.

The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
