The Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Monday arrested a gang of four persons who were selling SIM cards without procuring valid identity proof. The police seized 500 SIMS cards and over 500 copies of fake identity proofs from HTM Technologies Mobile Service centre in Yelahanka. The gang members have been identified as Mohammed Ismail (43), Mohammed Jafar (38), residents of Sai Nagar, Chandrashekar (41), a resident of T. Dasarahalli and Vasu (19), a resident of Yelahanka. They would then forge the documents and signatures of genuine customers and sell them for Rs. 500 for each SIM. Apart from this, they used to get Rs. 10 as commission from the company, a senior police officer said.
