Four security guards arrested for killing a pup

The police have arrested four security guards of Purva Fairmont apartment in HSR Layout for allegedly killing a five-month-old pup on July 1.

An FIR was filed following a complaint registered by residents in the neighbourhood.

The accused, Amar, and three other security guards, caught the pup entering the apartment complex seeking shelter from the rain. They allegedly put the pup in a gunny bag and tortured the animal with sticks and stones till it died. The horrific incident was captured on the apartment’s CCTV camera.

Eyewitnesses have given a statement to the police. The residents relentlessly pursued the complaint and an FIR was filed on Friday.

The inspector said they booked the four security guards under Sections 428 and 429 of the Indian Penal Code (Mischief by killing or maiming animal) and also under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
