The Bengaluru city police have arrested four Bangaladesh nationals on charge of murder and running a prostitution racket. The four were on the run since July last year after they killed one of their associate. The personnel attached to Hennur police station who was patrolling the area on Thursday morning saw the accused moving around suspiciously and took them into custody. A detailed probe led them to confess to the crime, the police said.

The accused Obimulla (26), Moin Khan (26), Rakimulla (33) and Mohammed Kislu (35) hail from Parambishnupura Narail district of Bangladesh had obtained Aadhaar card, voters ID and PAN card through one of their contacts identified as Janardhana Reddy from RT Nagar, Additional Commissioner of Police (east) Hemanth Nimbalkar said.

The accused crossed the border illegally with others and stayed in Kolkata for sometime before shifting their base to Bengaluru a few years ago. They stayed in Varthur, Gunjur and Kadugodi before moving into a rented house in Nelamangala from where they run a prostitution racket.

According to the police, the accused killed one of their associate, Imrul Choudary, by strangulation following a row.

After the arrest, the accused tried to hoodwink the police stating that they were labourers from West Bengal. But, their dialect gave them away. The police said that the four confessed to the crime and told them that they would bring girls from Bangaldesh to run the prostitution racket.

Since the murder case was registered in Nelamangala police station, we are handing over the case to the jurisdictional police for further investigations, Mr. Nimbalkar said.
