The management of a hotel in Halasuru has filed a cheating complaint against a group of Nigerians who stayed in the hotel for four days but allegedly paid only half of the ₹8 lakh bill.

Based on a complaint by Kumaresan, security manager of the hotel, the Bharathi Nagar police have taken up a case under various sections of the IT Act.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Tony Reid and Peter Prince along with their friends, checked into the hotel on July 28 and stayed for four days.

The accused availed various services at the hotel. They paid the bill of ₹8.23 lakh through a credit card at the time of checking out. Hours after they checked out, the accused called their bank to stop the payment.

The cheating came to light during an audit. Police are on the lookout for the accused.
