Five killed in accidents

Five persons, including three engineering students, died while two were injured in three separate road accidents reported near Sidlaghatta and in Bangalore on Tuesday.

Keshav Nanda (21), Kiran (20) and S. Aslam Ahmed (21) died on the spot and their friends, Rahul (21) and Peter (21), were grievously injured after their car rammed a parked lorry near Dasarahalli on National Highway 7 about 4 a.m. on Tuesday. According to the injured students, they were heading towards a coffee shop when the accident took place.

Peter was driving. The injured are undergoing treatment in a private hospital, the Hoskote police said.

Techie killed

Annapa Mallapa Hipparagi (40), a native of Belgaum, died on the spot after a private bus hit his motorcycle on Varthur Main Road on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday.

Mr. Hipparagi, who worked at a software firm in Whitefield, was staying in Malleshpalya.

S. Suresh (27), an electrician living in C.V. Raman Nagar, died on the spot when he rammed his motorcycle into a parked lorry in Indiranagar.

The accident occurred at around 2.30 a.m.
