Five injured in bus accident at Madhugiri

Five passengers sustained minor injuries after a private bus fell off the road near Harihara- Roppa Gate in Madhugiri taluk of Tumkuru district on Thursday night.

The police said that the bus was coming from Bengaluru to Madhugiri and there were six passengers in the bus at the time of the accident. The driver lost control as the axle blade got cut. The bus fell off the road around 11.30 p.m.

The five passengers, who sustained minor injuries, were treated at the Madhugiri Taluk Hospital as out-patients. The driver and conductor of the bus are said to be absconding.

A case has been registered at the Madhugiri police station.
