First round CET counselling: 63,215 seats are up for grabs

The Karnataka Examinations Authority has announced the seat matrix for admission to medical, dental, engineering and architecture, veterinary, agriculture and pharmacy courses.

As many as 63,215 government and government quota seats are up for grabs in the first round of counselling for students who have cleared the Common Entrance Test.

As many as 2,489 medical seats, 875 dental seats, 55,998 engineering and architecture seats in addition to 2,605 agriculture and veterinary seats are in the seat matrix.

As many as 1,248 seats in pharmacy colleges are also up for grabs, said a KEA release. Sources said that seats from some medical colleges were to be added to the pool. However, they said that 150 seats each from three new medical colleges (to come up in Kalaburgi, Koppal and Gadag) were added to the matrix. Students can visit http://kea.kar.nic.in for details.
