The police have registered an FIR against a teenage boy for allegedly killing his 15-year-old friend in a fight. The case was taken up based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father.

The incident took place on March 8 at 6.30 p.m. when the boys were returning from tuitions. The accused punctured the victim’s cycle tyre. A fight broke out between them. The parents claim that the accused hit the victim on his head. He succumbed to injuries and was declared dead on arrival by the hospital.

At the time, the accused and his friends told the victim’s family that he died when he fell down while playing near a jackfruit tree. On June 3, the father approached the police with a post-mortem report that said the son died due to a head injury and lodged a new complaint against the boy. “A case under Section 304 of the IPC has been registered and we are investigating,” the police said.
