Film distributor dies in accident

A-48-year-old film distributor was killed after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a pole on Cunningham Road on Sunday evening.

The deceased, Ajay Chandani, is the son of Pal Chandani, a distributor of Hindi films who passed away one-and-a-half years ago. Ajay was running the film distribution business. He was a resident of Abshot Layout near Sankey Road. He leaves behind his wife and daughter.

High Ground traffic police said that Ajay was heading home on Sunday evening. After entering Cunningham Road, he lost control of the vehicle and hit a pole on the footpath. Ajay was wearing a helmet, but suffered internal injuries.

After battling for survival for two hours in a hospital, he was declared dead around 8.10 p.m.

Police are awaiting the post-mortem report.
