Two managers of a city-based supermarket were robbed by a gang of three men posing as police officials on Saturday in Sanjay Nagar.

The fake cops robbed the managers of their valuables on the pretext of conducting search at their house.

Based on the complaint filed by one of the victims, Ravishankar, the Sanjay Nagar police have registered a case and are investigating.

In his complaint, Ravishankar, manager at a super market, said that the gang, posing as Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials barged into his house while he was watching television along with his friend Sahan, another manager working at the same place as Ravishankar, at around 10 p.m.

The gang asserted that they had credible information that Ravishankar and his friend were printing fake currency and said that they had to search the premises.

The trio ransacked the house and made away with two gold chains, two gold rings, cash amount of Rs. 3,000 and ATM cards.
