Electrician booked for sexual assault of minor

A 30-year-old electrician, who is on the run, has been accused of sexually assaulting a two-year-old girl on November 2. The accused lived in the same building as the victim’s family, said the police. The girl’s mother told the police that her two daughters were playing in the electrician’s house in the evening when she heard one of them scream.

When she rushed to check, her daughter complained of pain. The mother also found a bite mark on her body. The elder daughter reportedly told the mother, ‘Uncle had bitten her’. However, the accused, when confronted by the parents, said he was innocent and alleged that the elder daughter had bitten her sister.

According to the parents, doctors at a private hospital said she had an infection and suspected that she had been subjected to sexual assault.

The father filed a complaint with the Kadugodi police who have booked the accused under POCSO along with SC/ST Atrocities Act as the family belongs to Schedule Castes. “Investigations are on to track down the accused who is on the run,” said the police.
