A contractor allegedly barged into the office of the Joint Commissioner, R.R. Nagar and damaged property on Thursday. He was frustrated that a bill of ₹3 lakh had not been cleared for over a year.

H. Balashekhar, JC, R.R. Nagar said that the contractor Prashanth had reportedly renovated and furnished the offices of the Joint Commissioner and the ACF in the R.R. Nagar zonal office over a year ago. “However, there was no office work order for the work and, hence, it had become difficult to clear the bill. I will look into the issue,” he told The Hindu .

According to the police, Prashanth, was inebriated when he arrived at the office in the afternoon. He smashed glass window panes, banged his head on a wall and then barged into the chamber of H. Balashekhar, where he damaged the furniture.

“He was bleeding as he had broken several window panes with his bare hands,” said the police.

Employees in the BBMP office were able to overpower him. Alerted by officials, R.R. Nagar police arrived at the spot and arrested Prashanth.

The incident comes days after a garbage contractor, Venkatesh, from J.P. Park ward turned up at Balashekhar's residence and threatened him for not clearing a garbage bill. R.R. Nagar police had arrested Venkatesh based on a complaint by Balashekhar.
