Deputy Commissioner of Transport, Gulbarga, Shivraj Patil, who is camping at the accident spot in Mahbubnagar to coordinate the investigation, has said the driver and the cleaner of the bus, along with three other survivors who have been admitted to Apollo hospital in Hyderabad, are yet to be questioned.

“We are waiting for their recovery to question them to know the reason for the accident,” Mr. Patil said.

He said bodies of four victims had been handed over to their families and the rest had been kept in Osmania General Hospital mortuary.

Replying to a question whether the bus company has violated permit norms by taking onboard passengers en route while having permit for tourist permit, Mr. Patil said that the Andhra Pradesh transport authorities were conducting enquiries in this regard.
