June 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - Bengaluru:

Lokayukta police on Saturday filed an FIR against Janata Dal (S) MLA H.D. Kumaraswamy for denotifying 2 acres and 29 guntas in Thanisandra village during his tenure as the Chief Minister. They also filed two FIRs against the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa; one for denotifying 2 acres and 10 guntas of land in BTM Layout II Stage and another regarding one acre and three guntas of land in J.P. Nagar 7th Phase. Till date, the Lokayukta police have filed 16 FIRs, of which 15 are against Mr. Yeddyurappa, following a report by the CID listing 35 instances of land denotification from 2007-2012 where prima facie a case could be made out.

RTI activist Jayakumar Hiremath had moved the HC seeking a CBI probe into allegations in this regard in a CAG report. The HC had directed a Lokayukta probe.
