Cycling now, more activities later

June 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - Bengaluru:

On the second traffic-free Sunday at Cubbon Park, authorities of the Department of Urban Land Transport brought with them 70 cycles that could be rented out — for free — by park-goers. The cycles, which varied in size to cater to adults and children, could be rented in exchange for a valid identification card.

Horticulture officials said this was just a start, and more activities were planned for Sundays at the park. Rangoli and drawing competitions for children are in the pipeline; while citizens are encouraged to submit suggestions to increase public participation.
