Amit Mishra arrested, released on bail

The Indian cricketer was arrested on charges of assaulting his friend at a luxury hotel in the city in September last week.

Indian cricketer Amit Mishra, was arrested and later released on a personal bond at Cubbon Park Police Station, on Tuesday on charges of assaulting his friend at a luxury hotel in the city in September last week.

His arrest was following a three-hour long interrogation at Cubbon Park police station in the city on Tuesday morning, when he appeared before the police responding to the notice police served on him in the case.

He was released on a station bail as the sections he was booked under section 328 of IPC for causing hurt and Section 354 of IPC for assault to woman with intent to outrage her modesty are bailable sections.

Amit Mishra's female friend hailing from the city, had lodged a complaint with Ashok Nagar police on September 26, alleging that Mr. Mishra assaulted her at a luxury hotel in the city when he had come down to the city for practice at national Cricket Academy.
