Crackdown on plastic continues

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) continued its crackdown on banned plastic items on Wednesday, raiding establishments in several parts of the city. The Palike said, as on Wednesday, a total of 799 kg of plastic had been seized, and a penalty of ₹1.73 lakh had been imposed on violators.

As many as 2.5 tonnes of plastic had been seized in Bommanahalli, 600 kg in Mahadevapura, and 150 kg in the East zone. The BBMP said no plastic had been seized in Dasarahalli, Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Yelahanka zones.
