Rising fuel prices continued to fuel more anger among citizens. On Tuesday, members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) pulled a goods carrier near Rajajinagar to signify the frustration of the common man.

Later in the day, another demonstration was carried out by the party at Banashankari.

K.N. Umesh, district secretariat member of the CPI(M) said the main reason for the numerous fuel price hikes was de-regularisation. “When the Government regulated the prices, there were price hikes once a year. After deregularisation, the rise in price is almost monthly. This needs to be changed.” He also added that the Union and State governments should cut down the taxes on petrol. “We also demand a rollback in the hike,” he said.
