While Lokayukta Y. Bhaskar Rao announced handing over of the probe into corruption charges to Central Crime Branch Joint Commissioner Chandrashekar, questions about conflict of interest have been raised. "Mr. Chandrashekar’s father-in-law, who was special deputy commissioner in Bengaluru, was arrested by Lokayukta in 2010 while accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 for land conversion. The charge sheet is yet to be filed. There is a conflict of interest," an official, who was part of the team that arrested the special DC, said.
