The admission process to professional courses in colleges that are part of the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) may have begun, but the authorities are yet to respond to the show-cause notice sent to 15 “suspicious” students by the COMEDK.

Consortium’s chief executive A.S. Srikanth said they had notified the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and other medical councils about the show-cause notice, but the authorities were yet to respond on the issue.
According to COMEDK, 35 candidates among the first 2,000 rank holders this year had written the entrance test in 2011 too and got similar ranks.
Admission
Out of them, 15 candidates had reportedly taken seats in institutions coming under COMEDK in 2011, and are seeking admission this year again.
Meanwhile, on the second day of counselling for engineering courses on Friday, 674 seats were taken. Of the 1,950 rank holders who were scheduled to attend the counselling on day two, 701 attended.
As many as 16,742 seats in engineering colleges are yet to be allotted.
