CJI for training judicial officers in moral ethics

Chief Justice of India H.L. Dattu on Wednesday said that there was a need for judicial officers to attend a class on moral ethics.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the new building at the Karnataka Judicial Academy here on Wednesday.

Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra urged Mr. Dattu to consider requests for appointment of senior counsels in the Supreme Court from Karnataka. Responding to the request for an advocates’ academy on the lines of the judicial academy, he said that the State government was committed to establishing an advocates’ academy in Dharwad and Bengaluru.
