Even though several people in the city may have pulled out their jackets and woollens, a senior official in the meteorology department said that there has been no ‘significant’ variation in temperature.

B. Puttana, director, India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bangalore, said, “The clear skies must have resulted in a decrease in temperature but there is not much of a variation.”

He said that while the average minimum temperature last week was around 20 degrees Celsius, this week the figure is 19 degrees Celsius. “Winter will not set in before December,” he added.

As per the IMD’s weather summary, the maximum temperature on Friday was 29 degrees Celsius and minimum was 19.2 degrees Celsius.

The forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy sky. Fog/mist would occur in some areas during morning hours.
