The draft seat matrix for government and government quota engineering seats is out, giving a sneak-peek into the final matrix that is likely to be uploaded on the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) website by Saturday morning.
According to the draft matrix, there are around 3,320 seats in government and university engineering colleges, 3,520 seats in aided engineering colleges, 80,908 seats in private unaided colleges and unaided courses in private colleges, and 9,982 seats in private unaided minority colleges. Though the seat matrix for medical courses is not out yet, the number of seats is expected to go up significantly this academic year with the Medical Council of India’s nod for three new government medical colleges in Gadag, Koppal and Kalaburagi.
These colleges, with an intake 150 seats each, will be added to the 2,900 government and government quota seats that were in the matrix last year.
