The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths probing the alleged Indian Mujahiddeen (IM) terror module case took all four suspects to Bhatkal on Monday.

The team, headed by Assistant Commissioner Omkaraiah, went to the house of suspects Syed Ismail Afaque and Abdus Subur in the Tengengundi Cross area.

The team also reportedly visited the house of another suspect Afeef Mota and questioned him. However, he was not picked up.

The team is also said to have visited the Tengengundi port.

A senior official said this was part of the investigation. They were also trying to ascertain the trail of explosives to learn where the module bought them from.

Meanwhile, city Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi clarified that they had followed procedure as per the Criminal Procedure Code and the Indian Evidence Act during the seizure of explosives in Bhatkal. “We have taken five public witnesses from the local area, including a government officer, for Mahazar,” he said.

Mr. Reddi added that they had not zeroed in on any organisation responsible for the Church Street blast, but claimed that the investigation was on the right track.
