Caste census: deadline extended till May 10 in BBMP limits

Households to get printouts of caste census details

May 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:56 am IST - BENGALURU:

The State government has decided to give a print out to all households on the details given by them to enumerators during the Social and Educational Survey (caste census), which has yet again been extended till May 10 in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits to ensure 100 per cent coverage.

After digitisation

Households will get an opportunity to correct, if any, mistakes in the details. The printouts would be given only after the entry of data and digitisation of records of all households covered in the State.

Correcting errors

Households can correct errors entered by enumerators during the survey.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Minister for Social Welfare H. Anjaneya said deadlines have been extended in the city owing to difficulty in the coverage of all households within the earlier deadline of May 5.

The last date for the rest of the districts in the State is May 5, which was earlier May 3.

The census commenced on April 11 and coverage of families in BBMP limits was 83.25 per cent as on Sunday — lowest in the State.

A total of 97.04 per cent of households were covered in the State as on May 3.
