A day after a ‘coordination meeting’, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) contractor dug up a road at Nellurahalli junction near Whitefield hours after the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) started redoing the stretch.

The BWSSB is laying sewage lines in Whitefield from the past two years. On Sunday, engineers of the BBMP and BWSSB from the Mahadevapura zone met. BWSSB officials said their work had been completed on the stretch.

R.K. Mishra, member, Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), who was part of Sunday’s co-ordination meeting, said, “BBMP officials began redoing the road on Monday. But the BWSSB contractor sprung a surprise by digging up the whole road later that night. BBMP officials and traffic cops are furious.”

BBMP officials had another co-ordination meeting with BWSSB officials on Tuesday afternoon. Using a map, they marked all the roads in Mahadevapura zone where BWSSB work is on. They also decided to conduct a spot inspection of all these roads on Wednesday.
