A vigilance squad of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has caught a conductor red-handed issuing fake bus tickets and handed him over to the police.

During line checking on November 14, the squad found two passengers on the same seat in possession of tickets with similar denomination and serial number on Route No. 273C (Kempegowda Bus Station to Peenya). When all the other passengers were checked, the squad found that the conductor had issued 65 tickets worth Rs. 675, which were not officially handed over to him.

Further investigation by the vigilance squad found that conductor G.H. Dileep had scanned the original tickets and issued the printouts to the passengers, passing them off as genuine tickets.

Rs. 2,200-worth tickets

He had in his possession such fake tickets worth Rs. 2,200, said a press release from BMTC. He has been handed over to Seshadripuram police.
