Breakfast in a jam

May 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - BENGALURU:

For many in the city, traffic snarls often get so long drawn out that breakfast gets converted to brunch while evening snacks are deferred to dinner time.

93.5 RED FM has a solution for this. It will launch a month-long campaign on Monday, ‘Bread Pe Butter Lagao, Traffic Jam Ki Bajao’, in which volunteers posted at traffic signals will offer sandwiches to hungry commuters.

On the opening day, volunteers will serve free sandwiches at Brigade Road signal (Opera House) at 8.30 a.m. and snacks at Trinity Circle at 5 p.m. In subsequent days, the campaign will move to Basaveshwara Circle, Richmond Road (Vellara Junction), Silk Board Junction, Bhashyam Circle, Mahadevapura Signal and Koramangala Sony World Junction.

Manu Tripati, Programme Director, said over 1,000 sandwiches will be served daily while commuters will be given a chance to vent their rage on air.
