BENGALURU: Two days after a decomposed body of a woman was recovered from a house in Ejipura, the police have identified the victim as Honnama alias Priya, a construction worker.

On Wednesday afternoon, the house owner, who lives nearby, sensed foul smell coming from the house he had rented out to two women — Divya and Honamma.

He alerted the police and the decomposed body of a woman, with her throat slit, was found beneath the cot. Police officers suspected that the murder would have taken place three days prior to the discovery.

Except a few phone numbers, the police did not find any identity documents from the house. “During investigation, the woman was identified as Honamma, a native of Hosur,” said a police officer.

She and her husband, who is yet to be identified, were living with their two kids in K.R. Puram for the past five years. They were daily wage earners. However, recently they got separated and Honamma came to Ejipura and started living with her friend Divya.

The police are now on the lookout for Divya, who is absconding, and one more man who is suspected to be a friend of Honamma.
