BMTF serves notice on Mayor

The Mayor, S. Venkatesh Murthy, against whom a land encroachment allegation has been made, has been served with a notice by the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) on Saturday.

Mr. Murthy is alleged to have acquired government land by making false claims in Somanahalli. The land allotted to him is bagair hukum land which is allotted to landless labourers. The land belongs to BMTC where a bus terminal was to come up.

Speaking to The Hindu , Sharma of BMTF said, “I will not comment on the issue and come in the way of inquiry and investigation.”
