BJP protest causes traffic jam on Bannerghatta Road

Traffic on the busy Bannerghatta Road was disrupted for over an hour after BJP members, led by MLA Satish Reddy, staged a protest at Arakere Junction. They were protesting against the government for not releasing funds for development work. The protestors demanded widening of Bannerghatta Road, which witnesses traffic snarls on a daily basis.

The BJP members alleged that the government was playing political games by not releasing funds for development work to improve infrastructure in the area. This was inconveniencing the citizens, they claimed. They also alleged that the ministers and officials concerned were avoiding meeting with the residents to redress their grievances.

However, motorists, who were stranded in the huge traffic jam, vent their ire on protestors for disrupting vehicular movement.
