BJP gives a score of 3 on 10 for 3 years of Congress government

Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has graded Congress 3 out of 10 for the three-year performance of its government in the State.

Listing out what they called “27 failures” of the government in a 44-page booklet titled Idu Janaparavalla, Jana Virodhi Sarkara (This is not a pro-people, but an anti-people government), with a picture of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah dozing during the session on the cover, BJP leaders, headed by Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Jagadish Shettar, dubbed the Congress’s three year administration as “corrupt, opaque, anti-people and anti-farmer”. “Three is not even passing marks, it’s just grace marks,” said Mr. Shettar. “We have given three marks just for the work done by the government in its usual course.” He called the Chief Minister “ Samajwadi turned Majawadi” (socialist turned luxury-loving man) in the first chapter of the booklet.

Mr. Shettar took on the government on the issue of Anti-Corruption Bureau and accused Mr. Siddaramaiah of weakening the Lokayukta institution. “Though complaints were filed against the Chief Minister, FIRs have not been filed,” he added. He termed Mr. Siddaramaiah’s tour of drought-hit areas as a “farce”. To a query on the Opposition’s failure in taking allegations to a logical end, Mr. Shettar said an “insensitive government” had failed to respond though protests were launched both inside and outside the session. “Shortly, the party will decide the future course of action to expose the failures of the government,” he said.
