Baby girl dies after falling from escalator at Metro station in Bengaluru

The baby slipped through the gap on the escalator at Srirampura Metro station and fell on the road below

An 18-month-old girl, who slipped from an escalator at Srirampura Metro station in Bengaluru and fell on the road on Sunday night, succumbed to her injuries at Nimhans on Monday.

Hasini was being carried by her grandfather on the escalator, heading towards the platform where trains bound for Majestic halt.

The baby slipped through the gap and fell on the road below.

She was rushed to KC General Hospital and later shifted to Nimhans where she passed away.

The Subramanya Nagar police have taken up a case of negligence and are investigating.
