ATM thief arrested

The Soladevanahalli police recently arrested a person allegedly involved in ATM thefts. The arrest was made following a complaint from the agency, which replenishes money at an ATM machine on Sapthagiri College Road.

The police said the personnel working for the agency noticed a person illegally entering the ATM kiosk at night and was checking the machine after closing the shutter. The CCTV of a shop located opposite the ATM also recorded the movement of the person.

Recently, when the accused entered the ATM and tried to close the shutter, the police arrested him. The police have seized a gas cutter, oxygen cylinders and other tools used for the robbery. When interrogated, the official found that the accused is a native of Punjab and was part of an inter-State gang that was involved in ATM robbery cases. In the city, multiple cases have been filed against the accused for ATM robbery, murder attempt and others.
