The city-based Asian Research and Training Institute for Skill Transfer (ARTIST) has invited collaborators from across industries for a healthier India through skill transfer and applying optimal use of technology. This is to make quality healthcare accessible to people in areas that currently do not have facilities.

At an award presentation programme organised by ARTIST here on Thursday, top collaborators were awarded for their contribution in the field of healthcare and skill transfer.

Chairperson of ARTIST Hema Divakar, who is also FOGSI Ambassador to FIGO (International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics) said the organisation has been able to reach 15,000 medical and paramedical staff so far. “Our aim is to reach one million by 2022,” she said.

“We declared VISION 2022 in 2013 keeping in mind a 10 year plan to make it measurable. Phase-1 was focused on R and D and up-skilling in our city of Bengaluru. Phase-2 began when we started collaborations within the healthcare circle in Karnataka and few other select states in India. Currently we are on the verge of starting with Phase-3 which is to collaborate with other sectors across India and up-skill their taskforce,” she said.

“This results in healthier work environment at work places leading to better productivity and performance. The Final Phase will be to measure results and modify strategies if need be, including the way we utilize digital space,” she added.

Awards were presented to Savita Kuttan (Digital Disruption), Shobha Shashikumar (Fine Arts), Geeta Ramanujam (Education), Anita Raj (Entrepreneurship) Asha K (Healthcare).

The programme also witnessed a classical dance performance by Dr. Shobha Shashikumar and her team on the theme “Skill Transfer @ Skill Gurukool.”
