Six armed men barged into a realtor's house at Annapurneshwari Nagar and took valuables worth ₹50 lakh on Tuesday morning.

The house-owner, Ramegowda, 40, was in the lobby when the men entered the house. In his statement to the police, he said that initially they discussed land rates and prospective properties for investment. However, they suddenly pulled out machetes and asked him to remain silent.

Two men went inside and forced his wife to hand over cash and valuables in the house. Worried about their lives, Ramegowda asked his wife to give in to their demands.

The moment they left, he approached the jurisdictional police and filed a complaint.

“We believe that the attackers were known to the victim. We are scanning CCTV footage from the neighbourhood,” said the police.
