An armed gang of four hacked a 40-year-old rowdy to death in front of his house at Bagaluru Layout in the early hours of Friday.
The deceased, identified as Palani, came out of the house to go to a real estate office situated close by when the gang attacked him with lethal weapons and escaped.
The K.G. Halli police, who have taken up the case, said that the gang members wore masks and had even cut off the CCTV connection and smashed the cameras before attacking Palani.
They suspect old rivalry to be the cause for the attack. Palani, who had multiple cases pending against him, was attacked by his rival gang three years ago. However, he survived after he was immediately rushed to the hospital then.
The police are now analysing the CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the attackers.
