An armed man entered the kitchen and overpowered her at knifepoint. The accused allegedly dragged her out to the living room where her mother and a domestic help were pinned down by five other armed men.

The accused threatened to kill them and demanded that they hand over all their valuables. The victim tried to resist, following which the accused slashed her hand with a knife. The accused later ransacked the house. When they did not find anything, they snatched two mobile phones worth ₹20,000 from two of the women tand left, the police said.

The victim was admitted to a hospital. After recovery, she approached the Halasuru Gate police and filed a complaint on Friday.

The police are now verifying CCTV camera footage to identify the accused.
