Actor Rishika Singh files case against director

Another actor too threatens to move court against the director

April 29, 2013 09:22 am | Updated 09:22 am IST - Bangalore:

Actor Rishika Singh has filed a complaint against actor-director S.K. Basheed for allegedly uploading her morphed obscene video clip on a social website to get promotion for his recently released movie.

Ms. Singh, daughter of film director Rajendra Singh Babu, has, in her complaint, alleged that Basheed, who is actor-director of Benki Birugaali, uploaded the morphed video clips for personal gain.

“It was not me in the video clipping and Basheed has morphed the videos and uploaded it on the social networking website,” she said and added that Basheed had even threatened her with dire consequences. “I have filed a case of defamation and criminal intimidation requesting the police to take action against him,” she said.

Meanwhile, actor “Duniya” Vijay, who has also been dragged into this controversy, said that he would be filing a defamation suit against Basheed.

Basheed, who initially admitted in a sting operation, carried out by a regional channel, that he had uploaded unedited video scenes of the recently released Benki Birugaali, which depicted Rishika in bad light, said that he had no knowledge about the video clipping.

But during an interview with the same channel, Basheer denied making such claims and made a hurried exit from the studio. The Sanjay Nagar police said that they have taken up a case based on a complaint. Investigation is on.
