City Police Commissioner N.S. Megharikh suspended an inspector and two constables in Soladevanahalli on charges of lapse of duty while handling the situation that followed the mob attack on the Tanzanian student on Sunday night.

While the inspector was suspended for not following up on the case properly the next day, the two constables were present at the spot where the mob attacked the students and had failed to protect the girl, Mr. Megharikh said.

Meanwhile, the police arrested four more persons who were part of the mob that attacked the Tanzanian student and her friends on Sunday night.

More members of the mob that attacked will be arrested, a senior police officer said.

Meanwhile, residents have accused the police for implicating locals who were not part of the violence.

Yeshwantpur ACP Ashwath Narayan has been suspended for dereliction of duty based on a report submitted by Addl . CP West K.S.R. Charan Reddy to the city police commissioner N.S. Megharikh. Based on the report, the police commissioner has suspended the ACP. Further investigation is on.
