A six-year-old boy was killed when a wall of his house collapsed at Shamanna Garden near Bapujinagar in the early hours of Saturday.

The police identified the dead as Abdul Wahid.

His father, Adbul Latif, who sustained minor injuries in the incident, has been shifted to a hospital.

Wahid and Latif were asleep when the wall collapsed on them around 3.45 a.m., the Byatarayanpur police told The Hindu.

As many as 13 persons, including six women, were in the house when the incident took place, the police said.

“I heard a loud noise around 3.45 a.m. and rushed the spot with my family members,” said Shamsheer, who stays nearby. Wahid and Latif were under the debris, he said.

He and other neighbours rescued Latif. However, Wahid had died on the spot.

Wahid was studying in class one in a government school.
