Satishchandra is NIMHANS director

Ending the many months of uncertainty surrounding the leadership of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), P. Satishchandra, professor, Department of Neurology, was appointed the premier institute's director on Tuesday.

Dr. Satishchandra was among the 16 applicants for the post and among the three shortlisted in March 2010 by the search committee appointed by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The eminent neuroscientist has been with NIMHANS for over 25 years. He is the vice-president of the Indian Epilepsy Society and president of the Bangalore Neurological society.
