PES University sets up Centre for Development Studies

PES University, Bangalore, has established a unique Centre for Development Studies (CDS) at its campus in Bengaluru.

The CDS is headed and advised by Professor R.S. Deshpande, former Director of the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bengaluru, said an official note.

The university through CDS will be offering an unique course of MSc in Applied Economics keeping in view the need of the academic fraternity.

Debate competition

The CDS is conducting a debate competition for final year graduate students in the city on “Budget in the Shadow of Demonetization: Welfare Augmenting or Deteriorating” on Tuesday on PES University campus. A panel of experts from Bengaluru will be attending and judging the participants.

Prof Charan Singh, RBI professor, IIMB, Dr L.V. Nagrajan, Former Additional Chief Secretary Finance, Govt of Karnataka and Prof K.R.S. Murthy, former director IIMB will participate, the release said.

The programme begins at 11 a.m. at the Auditorium, Panini Block, PESU Campus, BSK III Stage, Ring Road.
