Bengaluru: The Yelahanka police on Monday detained a man for breach of protocol at the Yelahanka Indian Air Force base, where Aero India 2017 is scheduled to begin on February 14.
According to sources, the man is a labourer from Uttar Pradesh. He was allegedly spotted taking photographs of the base.
The police ruled out the possibility of him being a terror suspect. ACP (Crime) Hemanth Nimbalkar said he had been detained for breach of protocol. "He was engaged in some worker at the base. There is no security lapse. He had breached protocol and that is why he had been detained."
Bengaluru Commissioner of Police Praveen Sood tweeted from his official account (@CPBlr), "No terror threat at all. It's a simple enquiry about a labourer."
