Man murdered, tension prevails in Frazer Town, K.G. Halli

Tension prevailed in Frazer Town and Kadugondanahalli police station limits on late Thursday night following a murder and a stray incident of stone throwing at the two different places.

Prohibitory orders will be in force in the two police station limits till Monday.

Four persons allegedly attacked two persons, who were returning to their house after breaking away from the procession to immerse Ganesha idols.

According to the police, Vikram (22) and his friend Vineet (22) were walking towards their house in Nagawara. Miscreants came from behind and attacked them near Richard Park in Frazer Town. While Vineet was stabbed, Vikram suffered injuries on his nose. Vineet died on the spot while Vikram was shifted to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences for medical treatment.

“The murder took place far away from the procession route. The search for the culprits is on,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) M.R. Pujar.

Mr. Pujar has camped in the area to supervise the security arrangements. Apart from the city police personnel, several platoons of the Karnataka State Reserve Police and City Armed Reserve have been deployed.

Security has also been tightened at Periyar Nagar where a stray incident of stone-throwing was reported. A police inspector was injured on Thursday night when the procession was passing through the area.
